Morning Classes:

Pirate-ology-  

• Discussed differences between fictional pirates and real pirates
• Brainstormed pirate names
• Read “Real Pirates” by Clare Hibbert
• Read “Captain Flinnn and the Pirate Dinosaurs” by Giles Andreae
• Wrote about pirate animals
• Played gold coin game
• Made eye patches
• Dyed paper for treasure maps

Comedy Improv - 

• Played games like “Excuses,” “Questions,” and “Ding”
• Reviewed classic improv “rules” like “Never Say No!”
• Planned our performance for Friday… we are so excited!!!

Afternoon Classes:  

Realistic Fiction: Diary of a ???? Kid-

• Worked on story ideas with secret files and magic 8 ball
• Continued working on stories
• Please sign waivers and wear sneakers tomorrow!!! (for Rock Ventures)

Directing for Film and Video (Week 3)-

• All day shooting

Fabulism- Writing the Absurd as Real

• Discussed character and plot
• Created “Hailey”
• Movie characteristics that apply to writing
• Writing exercises
• Homework: Finish one story from this week
