Why was this blog created?

This blog is our effort to keep the channels of communication open between the parents of our SummerWrite campers and Writers & Books.

What do apprentices do?

Apprentices assist teaching artists in various and diverse ways. All apprentices are high school and college students who have an interest in the literary arts. Apprentices can work with students on an individual basis, help students with projects, assist teachers with lessons, and are just another friendly face in the classroom.

How does check-in/ check-out work?

Parents/ guardians should bring their children into the building on Monday mornings to ensure that all paperwork has been received. Parents can also meet teaching artists and other SummerWrite staff at this time. The rest of the week, students can simply check themselves in with at the SummerWrite desk. Parents/ guardians must, however, sign their children out each day.
